How would you describe the learning environment at Talent 100 and what would you consider the best part?

The learning environment is calm and focused, and my favourite part was the environment of the classroom which was more relaxed and engaging than a regular school classroom.

What were you aiming to achieve by attending Talent 100 and how did we help you achieve that?

I was looking to improve my performance in Economics as I knew I had the ability but felt that my classroom learning wasn’t as effective as it could be. Talent helped me through in depth discussion and clear, concise notes.

How did you find the resources?

I really appreciated the notes books as well as the revision MC and SA questions at the end of each topic which my Talent teacher read over. This helped me know if I had understood the content or not, and what I needed to go over. It was also good that they go by syllabus dot points so I knew everything was being covered.

Have you tried our holiday programs? If so, how did they benefit your learning?

The holiday programs have been extremely beneficial in consolidating my learning and helping me for trials.

How has your mentor’s teaching style helped you with your studying? (Why did their teaching style work for you?)

I really enjoyed working through the notes and engaging with the students for answers rather than just reading out the notes lecture style to the class. As well as this, he always read through any practice responses I did and gave feedback. In class, any questions we had were clearly answered and explained throughly.

The learning was great because of the fun environment and engaging class. As well as this, I liked having a one and a half hour class each week where I could engage with the content that would usually take us two weeks to get through in class. Doing a topic each week made it really clear in my head as well.

Can you share your number one study tip?

Lots and lots of practice questions. I wouldn’t bother with writing notes for Economics- it’s not like English where you come up with techniques and do your own analysis, there’s only one stance MP was in 2020 for example. Instead, use notes to complete practice short answer questions, memorise stats and then do a bunch of questions and essay plans to practice.

If I could describe Talent-100 in one word, it would be:

Life changing.
