Meet Your Talent 100 Mentor: Mithula Premachandran

Here at Talent we’ve amassed a variety of Mentors which have taught and encouraged our students throughout the years – guiding them through high school and the HSC.

We call our teachers and tutors ‘Mentors’ because they deliver more than simply theory. Talent 100 Mentors are all outstanding achievers, but it’s their passion for teaching and mentoring which matters most. Whilst an exceptional academic record is a must, our Mentors are also chosen for their ability to work with students of all levels and provide the pastoral guidance for future success.

Not only do we want to give thanks to these Mentors who have enriched the lives of many at Talent, but want to share their unique personalities and passions while also inspiring the next generation of high school students to strive for their best.

Mithula’s Top 5 Study Tips:

Whilst learning on your laptop or iPad is easy and convenient, sometimes printing out your notes and pulling out a highlighter is the best way to engage with your notes.

Make sure to split up your study schedule with doing some exercise – this may include going on a short 20-minute and surrounding yourself with nature to re-energise.

Never confine yourself to studying in one space. Having a change of scenery, like studying in your local library or even in your backyard can help increase your concentration and retention levels.

Whilst doing practice tests are at times intimidating, they are the best way to test how well you know your subject. Research has found that students who do practice texts retain 50% more of the information a week later than students who do not do practice tests.

Organising study sessions with your classmates is a great way to keep each other motivated and work through course content.

Fun Fact:

I have travelled to 16 countries and am currently learning Spanish in preparation for my next overseas trip.
