My top 5 study tips

1Talking over a subject or a topic with friends always helps, especially for the humanities where you can bounce ideas off each other, and learn how other people do things differently from you.

2When you're feeling unmotivated, a change of location always helps. For my HSC I did a lot of work in cafes or in libraries, places that were easier to be productive at because I did not have my bed next to me calling me to take a nap.

3Your teachers (and tutors) are your biggest asset! Don't feel afraid to ask them more questions, send them lots of practice work, or ask them to talk something over with you. They are knowledgeable and experienced and you should get as much of that knowledge as you can from them.

4Try not to strive for perfection! I was someone who did a lot of my study last minute (which is inevitable when you're doing the HSC sometimes) so in these situations prioritise. Ask yourself am I spending my time learning something that isn't going to be that useful? When you accept you can't learn everything it makes you realise you have to pick and choose.

5Improvise and remain flexible. Do go into the exam with a game plan. Know what you feel most comfortable talking about and which content you are the most across. But if the question on the day means you need to throw it all out the window don't be afraid to do that. You are intelligent and capable of improvising something amazing on the spot.

Great futures begin with great HSC results
